“Do you know the future? Do you know what will happen as the result when you make certain choices? Are you relying on your own wisdom and understanding for your future direction? That’s just it, we don’t. We can’t. Not within ourselves!
Jesus knows every aspect of our future and what choices will take us to His desired destinations. But, do we trust Him with it all? Do we trust Him enough to give Him control of our destinations? I am totally convinced now that what Jesus wants for me is what I want!
I want His destinations in everything in life! Why? Because, I am learning that what Jesus wants is so much better than what I want. So, now, I understand that what He sees for my future is what I desire more than what I can see. It is so much better in every way. The only believer who wants to do things his or her way is the believer who does not understand Jesus’s way is always better.
We will aways be happier with what Jesus wants to direct us into. Always! If you have not discovered His will in your life, you should! I have often thought, how can I know my own way? How can I see, understand, and comprehend all the depth of everything involved in each situation? Well, I can’t and I don’t! Just like you! But, what I am learning is, I can be led of Jesus on any situation.
I can find out what He sees ahead for me. I trust Him with everything, so I know He is after my best in His will. His will is good. There is nothing to fear turning our lives over to His complete control and direction for us.
So, when we cannot see the future, Jesus does. And, when we do not know the best thing to do–or the timing about what we should do or not do, Jesus does. And, He lives inside of our soul 24/7. And, we have access to the Father all the time! No restrictions!
My question is, why would ANY believer want it any other way? But, it has been my observation that most believers are mostly self willed in their lives. That, my friend, is a huge disadvantage! When you have Jesus available and yet not implement His wisdom or listen to His direction, that’s not too smart! Can we know our own way? We can only know when our way is in His will. That is the only place I want to be. Is in His will. That is the place for me, for you, and every believer!
Haven’t you ever wondered why you have ended up in the messes you have? Well, those results were probably because you wanted to do it your way. And, you paid the price or are still paying the price from your choices.
Now, I have made plenty of wrong choices too.–Trying to do it my way. But, I no longer want to experience what my own will can produce. I want to experience what Jesus wants me to experience. What I want is not good enough from His standards. Living in His will, we can find out what it means to have His Spirit in the lead.
We will find out His good will for us as we walk in faith of His inner leading. It is always better! Plus, we have peace with Him. And, we find out from Him the “yes” and “no” of direction as we go along. And, He gives us ideas, and vision for what He wants to do in and through us.
To be in union with God is beyond our comprehension. But, we are growing in our understanding as we go along. Thank God, we are growing! We’re not where we used to be in our understanding! But, being led by Jesus is one of the most important things we believers can get hold of in our lives.
When we have our lives submitted and yielded to the great will of God, we can know our way is coming from Him. And, that’s what we all should want for our lives.” KF KenFletcher.org
