“I have been thinking on what the world was like in the beginning. It is fascinating to ponder on the truth. We’re not given a lot of details, but there are things that have been described that show us what it was like.
The dividing line in history is the flood of Noah. That’s when the earth changed from one eco system to another. Some say it occurred approximately 6000 years ago. Others believe much further back than that. Maybe more than double that number. At this time, I am inclined to go along with the further back timeline. But, either way, it surely happened!
It’s documented in all ancient cultures around the globe. And, after the flood happened, the whole world was changed! The whole global eco system changed! It was changed from the original design of the Creator in the beginning!
Why was it changed? It was changed because of sin that had entered the world by the will of man. The Creators original design and order did not include sin or death, sickness, poverty, lack, or even being uncomfortable, or any other imperfection of any kind. It was a very, very nice place everywhere in the beginning!
Man and woman lived in a no negatives atmosphere every day. Experiencing the perfection of God. And, God Himself would come and fellowship with them there in that perfect place He created. No death anywhere! Nothing but life and abundance everywhere. That was what we were supposed to be born into on earth. But, we find ourselves here in this fallen generation in a fallen world.
What was the earth like then? Well, we know from scripture, that in creation God originally designed a water canopy, or a sort of, vast membrane of water that he commanded to incircle ABOVE the air atmosphere. So, looking at the earth from space, you would be looking through water that surrounded it all around. Then, below the water surrounding the earth, the air to breath in the atmosphere was in the space between the water layer above and the earth below.
How did the water stay up there? Well, I’m not claiming to be a scientist to figure all that out. But we know that this is how the earth was created in the beginning. There was the land of earth in a sphere, then the air atmosphere in the sky around, then finally, the water space that separated outer space from the air atmosphere. It was a rich & balanced eco system.
The Bible describes that, in that original eco system, at certain times a mist would come up from under the earth that watered the vegetation, etc. Notice, that in the original created earth in the beginning it did not rain. It never rained. It wasn’t supposed to rain in God’s original perfect earth design.
The Bible says in those days that Noah was a preacher of righteousness. It took Noah and his sons about 100 years to complete the task God gave him to build the ark. So, for 100 years, Noah was ridiculed for building this huge cargo ship. As he built, he preached. Telling people to repent and turn to God because it was going to rain and the earth and all upon it was going to be destroyed.
Think of it! He was constantly laughed at, ridiculed and mocked for 100 years. He kept working and building because he had heard from God and he believed Him. So, he worked and preached! The people of earth did not believe Him because it had never rained before. We’re not sure if Noah’s sons and wife even believed him. The people thought he was crazy back in the original creation. They thought he was completely nuts. That is, until it started raining!
In the original creation, we’re not sure if there was even a salt sea that existed then on the earth. We do know that the sun rays were filtered through the water layer that surrounded the earth. I believe that much of the harmful UV effects, etc., of the sun were filtered out before they could damage any life on earth. Also, I believe that it brought stability to the whole earth’s temperature and design. A well known scientist said because of the water canopy above, the sky was actually pink in color instead of blue.
A scientist in our day made a working model of the original earth and it’s eco system. And showed how it worked. I think that would be fascinating to observe the model & working of the elements, etc., in God’s original earth He created for us to live.
We know in the old world, after sin and death came in, that people still lived a very long time, from our perspective. But, just as God said, they all died because of sin and death entering into the perfect creation. But, as we look back, we learn that they lived on earth for many hundreds of years before they died. We must understand that most of the people who died in the flood were many hundreds of years old.
How did that happen? How did they live so long back then? I believe the existing eco system itself was part of the reason. I believe in that original system, perverted bacterias and viruses and other negative factors were not able to develop much yet from the entrance of sin and death.
Also, the negative effects of the sun bounced off or was absorbed because of the water canopy that was covering the earth. Other factors that we have not thought about yet enter in to the length of the people’s lives before the flood. One thing is for sure, the law of sin and death was not near as developed in the original creation as it is now.” KF KenFletcher.org
