23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Dodie Osteen, was Pastor John Osteen’s wife and Joel Osteen’s mother. She and John founded and pastored Lakewood Church in Houston, TX USA. In 1981, Dodie had been diagnosed with stage four liver cancer! The doctors gave her 2 weeks to live as they had done all that they could do for her. So, they sent her home to die.
Dodie decided within herself that she did not want to die and leave her family, and instead, though her pain, went straight to God’s Word. She began to confess God’s Word concerning healing for her body. She compiled a list of 40 scriptures in the Bible concerning faith and healing.
No matter how rough it was, and it was very, very rough, Dodie would go through the day confessing God’s Word over her body no matter how bad she felt. Proclaiming it’s truth over the cancer! Saying the Word! Speaking it over herself! Every day! Her faith grew. Her resolve grew. And, that was over 44 years ago she has been cancer free.
Some years ago, I heard her say on TV that, even after all of these years she has been healed, she still does not leave her house without before confessing her list of Bible healing and faith scriptures over herself. She believed so deeply all of those years! If you want to know what scriptures Dodie used, that list is easily found on the internet. Seek it out!
She also wrote a great book on her healing from cancer that you should read. It is so inspiring! How did she turn around the impossible circumstances? Through her faith in the Word of God!
People can scoff all they want. But, when it is provable like in her case and in Kenneth E. Hagin’s case, and even in my case. I’ve got the proof. The doctors records and hospital records, tests, etc. Even when you prove it, they still won’t believe. Believing the Word begins with a choice.
Some refuse to believe it is possible. But, they’ve come way too late for me. When you’ve experienced healing by faith in the Word, no one anywhere can tell you different. Just a few months ago of this writing, Dodie Osteen passed away at 91 years old. What a precious woman of faith!
Zona was only 15. She was the daughter of Norvel Hayes, a minister and teacher of the Bible. Zona had been suffering with growths all over her body. She had them for years. They got bigger and more of them as time went along. Norvel said that she had the ugliest hands in high school because of the growths. Norvel was obviously very disturbed about her condition. He had prayed and prayed for years about the growths with no results. In fact, they got worse.
He finally realized that his prayers were not working. He said that since he was a child of God, he knew that she should not have those growths on her, and he knew she should be healed. So, Norvel said to the Lord, I want to know the truth! He set himself to seek the Lord about the truth why his prayers were not working. For months he did this!
He kept seeking and saying to Jesus, I want to know the truth! I want to know the truth! He would not give up! For months! Then, one night after church, he was walking across his living room. When, all of a sudden, he felt himself leave his body and go up. He said he went up to where God was.
Norvel said that he could not see anything. He said, there was some sort of fog that surrounded him. But, though he could not see anything, he heard the Lord speak to him loud and clear, in a strong stern voice saying, “How long are you going to put up with those growths on your daughter’s body?”
Norvel was taken back and stunned. He stuttered and stammered back, wh-wh-what do you mean Lord, what do you mean? He said he was shaking for even being there! The Lord said to him, “If you’ll curse those growths in my Name and doubt not, they’ll dry up and die, just like I did to the fig tree.” Then, Jesus proceeded to teach Norvel Matthew 21:21.
After this, in a short time, Norvel slipped back into his body standing in his living room. He said that as soon as he did, he marched right in to Zona’s room and cursed those growths like the Lord said, and then walked back out of her room.
Day after day, nothing seemed to change. She looked the same. Week after week. Nothing. The growths were still all there. But, Norvel said that he REFUSED to doubt! He remembered what Jesus said to him.
Novel said that, about 40 days later, he was at the back of the house. Zona was in her room hanging up dresses putting them into her closet. When all of a sudden he heard Zona scream. And, he said it sounded like she knocked over a dresser or something and ran into a wall–then she came running screaming down the hall yelling, Daddy, Daddy, look at my hands, look at my legs! Look! Look!
Friends, in a split second, God wiped all 47 growths off of her skin! All of them! And, put all brand new skin on her in their place. In a micro-second! A miracle!
Why did that happen? It started out with Norvel seeking the Lord for the truth! And, he would not give up until the Lord showed him the truth! How bad do you want to know the truth about your situation or your child’s? Do you really want to know why your prayers aren’t working? Why your not receiving your healing?

Some want to argue that healing is not for everybody. That somehow it is God’s will that they have sickness and disease, etc., on them. And, they believe that there are only a few lucky ones who God chooses to heal.
Well, if they REALLY believe it is God’s will for them to be sick, then, they should be honest and not seek to get better. Should they? They shouldn’t go to the doctor or take medicine to help them feel better. Doing such things would obviously be against God’s will. Now, in reality, that’s silly! It doesn’t make sense at all! It’s against the truth of God’s Word! It even goes against nature!
No, my friend, we go to the doctor to get better! Why? Because it is NOT God’s will for us to be sick or diseased! Good doctors and God are on the same team!–Trying to help people to get better and be healed! God uses doctors! Thank God He does or many of us believers would not even be here!
But, I have found that the highest and best way to be healed is through faith in God’s Word. It’s much better than getting an operation! It’s much better than taking medicine or treatments. So much better. Plus, we get the opportunity to see God work in our bodies. We get to experience His miracles! So, going to the doctor and being in faith while you do it is a good thing! You should believe for the right doctors.
You should not stay away from help from medical science except God tells you. I find that the more knowledge you can get the better. You can focus your faith better. However, understand that today’s medical science is a machine. A money machine! They can cycle people through like cattle. My wife and I have witnessed this first hand.
What am I saying? Be led by the Lord where and what you should do! He is faithful to guide you according to your faith level. Be confident you are heading in His direction for you. Whatever you do, do it in faith! Where ever you go, go in faith! What ever treatments or operations you do, only do them in faith! If God is not in it, you do not want to do it. You will regret it later. Still even if and when we make wrong choices, there is grace from God. He can help us in whatever state we find ourselves in.
We have talked a lot about healing in connection with utilizing Mark 11:22-24 and Matthew 21:19-22. We have not spent a lot of time on other applications of these verses. But, as we look at all that happened there at the fig tree, we understand that Jesus was saying that this works on the material realm. He mentioned us also doing what He did to the fig tree. And also he used the example of moving a mountain with our faith.
Both of His examples are things in the material realm. Our bodies are part of the material realm! But, other things are too! Well, we must get His wisdom to know what things we should change or move by faith! If the Bible says it is God’s will for us to do or have something, then we have a right to change it by faith. Also, if God speaks to our heart inside, we can do whatever He says!
I have seen financial miracles. I have seen places of residence come to us. And other miracles by faith. God is not limited on what can be done in the material realm! I hope you understand this. Many times, we are living far below what He wants for us. Are we willing to do things His way? Well, if we are, then we’ll be doing them by faith!
