Mark 11:22 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. V.23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. V.24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Someone says, you mean Jesus teaches we can talk to mountains and trees? I mean that Jesus showed us how to talk to physical things! Trees, mountains, and, yes, even our natural physical bodies! We can talk to our body in faith and it will change from sickness to health! Yes it will!
We see in verse 24 that faith is also exercised in prayer. It’s the same faith that we have in verse 23 working. Released in different ways. Speaking to the fig tree or to our body is not prayer. It is acting upon the faith that is in our heart. We do it! We say it! Because, we believe what WE say!
Now, you can believe God all day long about what HE says, but Jesus said that we must believe what WE say will come to pass! What WE say! Why? Because nothing is going to happen if we do not act upon the word of God!
Now, a few years ago when I was healed of that terrible nerve condition I had and all of that pain, if I had not acted upon the faith in my heart, I would still be in pain today. Even though I believed what Jesus did to purchase my healing! Faith without works (corresponding action) is dead faith!
What I am trying to say is, once you are full of God’s word on healing, you eventually must act upon it and do something in faith! Jesus shows us in these verses that if we believe in our heart and doubt not, and speak it, we will have what we say. Those are not my words. Those are Jesus’s words to us all! He said, “whosoever”.
Now, if we really believe what Jesus has said, we should be talking to things in faith! Yes! And, if we believe what Jesus has said, we will be praying the exact way He showed us and told us to pray! Won’t we? Well, I do not hear a lot of believers speaking like He showed us to speak in faith. But, we should be!!
What is amazing to me is, people will look down on folks who believe like this. But, at the same time, they fully believe in the virgin birth of Jesus. Which is also impossible! And, they will fully believe in John 3:16. But, they will disobey Jesus here and won’t believe and do Mark 11:22-24!
Now, those verses are just as much the word of God as any scripture. They reveal the law of faith in the spirit realm. How faith filled words can and does change things in the natural realm. Jesus did it all the time throughout the gospel accounts. But, here in Matthew 21 and Mark 11, Jesus spells it out for us! Praise His Name forever!
If we will be wise, we will learn these principles and DO what He has shown us to do. To actually do His word and practice how to exercise our faith and believing. That pleases Him! And, we get to learn! And we get to experience the wonder of miracle living. When our words come to pass according to our faith, there is nothing like it!
To experience the wonder of our faith-filled words and faith-filled prayers coming to pass is tremendous. To know that we can actually do what Jesus showed us! That WE CAN do it like Him! We are supposed to mimmic and follow after Jesus! And, we’re supposed to grow in these things as we go along. Aren’t we? Sure we are! And, He is demonstrating for us what to do and spelling it out!
“Whosoever!” Jesus said! That is a big word! That means everybody, anybody, can do this! Not just the disciples! Any believer! “shall say” Speak to the mountain, or fig tree, or whatever, “and shall not doubt in his heart” There is no doubt present in the heart. If so, our heart is compromised. And our faith will not work.
WE must get the doubt out first before we speak our faith! But, or you could say, instead of doubting, “believe that those things that he saith shall come to pass” So, you see, you and I have to believe in OUR WORDS of faith! We have to believe what WE say shall come to pass! Well, that is why we are basing our words on God’s Word.
We must be certain we are speaking God’s will in the matter! And, we place our words upon God’s unchanging words. We must believe that what we are saying will come to pass for certain! And, that’s it! The last phrase of the verse is simply the completion or the result of the previous parts. “he shall have whatsoever he saith”. It will come to pass! It will surely happen!
