Hebrews 4:2 “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Verse 3, For we which have believed do enter into rest,…”
“Have you heard the gospel (good news) of Jesus? I mean the authentic good news. Where He came from. Why He came to earth. What He said. What He did. Where He went. Everything He said and did was a true picture of what God is like.
Many people have heard the message and rejected it. Not believing it. The same message was heard by others. And, they believed. They mixed faith with the message and received. They have entered into rest because of their faith in Jesus!
It’s a gift. Faith to believe is a gift. It’s all about Jesus. He has done so much for us all. Do not harden your heart and resist the good news of Jesus. He is reaching out to you in love right now. Decide to trust in Him. Respond to His love. Turn to Him and accept His free gift to all who believe. Eternal life. Grace upon grace. Relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The good news of Jesus will profit you in every way IF you mix your faith with it.
When we are in faith, we enter into rest. Faith does not work except to work to stay in rest. We do not fight to stay in faith. We rest knowing what we have believed. The fight is in our mind against unbelief trying to enter.
Brother Kenneth E. Hagin, a great teacher of faith, said that it’s possible to have faith in our heart and doubt in our head at the same time. So true! However, we cannot just leave doubt in our minds. We must do something about it!
We must cast out of our minds the thoughts that are against what God has said. Or what we have believed and said in faith. A thought may come in that’s contrary to our faith, so, we simply get rid of it and maintain our posture of faith. Not wavering. Not backing off. Knowing what we have!
We rest in our believing. Knowing that God cannot lie. We have a foundation for our faith. We can expect what He said to come to pass BECAUSE we know He has done what He said. Have you believed the message of Jesus and entered into the rest of faith?” KF KenFletcher.org
