Why?

By Ken Fletcher

“Seeking Jesus on everyday matters as well as future direction is wisdom. What makes us think we know what is ahead? Do you know what is around the corner tomorrow? But, people plan their lives like they know where they’re going.

We can plan all we want. But, Jesus already knows all the options available for us. Why do we not take advantage of our union with Jesus? He already knows the best way for us–in every way. He already has a superior plan for us. He knows what is designed in us completely. He knows what we can handle. He knows our inward aspirations intimately.

Why do we think we have it all figured out? At best, we can only perceive partially. But, the man or woman who relies on the Lord for direction in their life is wise. Dependency upon the Spirit of God within us is wisdom. Why do we stay arrogant thinking we should do it our way? Why don’t we give Him control?

I believe it comes down to a trust issue. A lack of faith and understanding about our lives and our relationship with Jesus. As I have said before, in reality, our will is the only thing we possess that is actually ours exclusively. God owns everything else.

He does not decide for us. He honors what we decide and choose. He is not pushy or manipulative against our will. Our own will is why we don’t hear from Him as we should. Many people do not want to hear from God. They only know their way. What they want. And, unless something comes along to shake them to the core, they will continue to do it their way.

But, the problem is, we don’t know enough to guide our own lives. In reality, we don’t know what we are doing! We must have God’s sight to know where we’re going. That is where faith and hearing from God comes in.

People give up on being led by the Spirit on things. They give up on hearing direction from Jesus. The reason they give up is because, underneath it all, they want it their way. Even though they my think they want it God’s way. He knows their heart. And, He knows the truth about where they really are. Even when they don’t!

It is wisdom to get the clear unclouded word of God in our heart. We need to know from Him that our will is indeed submitted completely to His will. How do we really know? He will tell us. Because He sees the true of us. All of it.

If Jesus does not have all of our will, the part we are hanging on to is the part that will cloud and taint our perception of His pure words to us. We will not hear true in that state! All must be submitted! Every part! Then, we find out from Him the true.

When we truly want it His way only, He knows. And, then, we should know. Then, we can be certain of God’s true leadership in the affairs of life. As long as we want it our way, we will miss His way. At least, partially. Wisdom seeks the Lord’s will. Wisdom knows God’s ways are the best and highest we can experience. His ways are good. Because He is good.

I am a learner. I’m learning to trust in Jesus with everything. It is a journey of faith and trust in Jesus. Is there anything better in life than His way? Nope! I don’t believe we can experience anything better in life than the way of the Lord. He directs us in His tender love for us. Jesus is always thinking about our best because He loves us. Why do we not give Him everything to control? Why?” KF KenFletcher.org
