Thoughts On Thoughts

By Ken Fletcher

“What are those things that keep bouncing around in your head? Sometimes, it’s on a loop. Over and over again! Day after day. Night after night. Worry, fear, making you feel bad inside. Anticipation of the unknown. How will it turn out, etc.? What are those things? They are conscious thoughts!

They’re not nothings in there. They have substance! In essence they are spiritual. But, people do not look at thoughts like that usually. They think thoughts are of the mind. They think thoughts are of the brain. And, they are partially! But they are more than that.

They are conceived in our soul, which is part of our spiritual nature. Not our brain! Our physical brain is but a natural housing for our soul to interact with. It is flesh, of course. Our soul (spirit) gives the command, the brain receives the signal.

What our brain is like in function is like a computer interface. What an interface does is translates one kind of signal to another which is different. It connects one device to another device. Because the devices are different, the interface connects the two completely different things so they can understand and communicate with each other.

Our spirit uses our brain to contact to this physical natural realm. Our spirit is part of the spirit realm. Our body is part of the fallen natural realm. We are in 2 places at same the time! Yes, we are! Thoughts, then, are proceeding from our soul inside of our brain. So, thoughts are spiritual transferring to natural in the brain. Can you see?

Feelings are the product of thoughts. You can change the way you feel by changing the way you think.–What you allow yourself to think about. Thoughts are real things that produce results. So, since your thoughts are spiritual, and they are, then, that means your thoughts can shape your world in the natural.–Coming from your born again spirit in connection with God.

It’s in our thoughts that things can seem more of a problem than they really are. Misconceptions. Wrong input of information. Deception. But, understand, thoughts are the things that steer the direction of our life!

Thoughts are containers! They can be filled with peace, blessing, and positivity. They can be filled with positive faith! Dwelling on true things. And, as we all know, they can be filled with sadness, anxiety, worry, fear, misleadings, misunderstandings, etc.

Our thoughts can be filled with hate, unforgiveness, vengeance, pride, and all kinds of negative stuff. I’m talking about your thoughts and my thoughts! Inside of us! So, these thoughts are NOT nothing things! They have substance! They have results!

You keep thinking wrong, and those thoughts can lead you to murder someone. You keep thinking wrong, you will end up in jail or dead! You keep thinking wrong, and those thoughts will take you to a wrong destination every time! But, if you can focus your mind into positive thoughts, then you will end up in positive destinations.

We must only allow ourselves to think about things that mean something good! Thinking positive things will bring us to positive places. We must have thought control. Casting out the destructive thoughts and not allowing them to stay in our mind at all! Cultivating the positive peaceful thoughts of our mind.

Focusing our attention upon that which we want in our life. Good things. The most wonderful things to think about is our relationship with God through Jesus. Those thoughts transfer out here into the natural realm. Remember, thoughts are real. They are spiritual originating from our soul (which is spiritual).

We express our thoughts through action and words into the natural realm. So, acting on the word is people of faith expressing themselves with the container of words filled with believing. There is real things happening when believers speak in faith. Faith-filled words are powerful.

So, friend, understand that your words are important. Which means that your thinking and thoughts are important. Which ones to dwell on. Which ones to cast out. Which ones to give to Jesus. I believe the best we can do is stay in touch with Jesus as often as we can through the day and night.

Checking with Him in our thoughts (in our soul) where His Spirit abides. Getting His thoughts on whatever matter we are experiencing in life. He is that close! As close as our thoughts.

We believers are supposed to live from inside out! If we can conceive how amazing our union with Christ is, and that He is as close to us as our thoughts, right in our soul of our recreated spirit, we can begin to see ourselves the way He sees us. And, that, my friend, is what we should perceive!

Because, we need to think of ourselves the way Jesus thinks about us and NOT another way! Hope you got that! It’s a big one! Because, this world and people will try and manipulate you into their image of you. You must think of yourself different, my friend! You must think of yourself the way Jesus thinks about you! That is what you want to think about! Because, that IS the real you!

Your thoughts about yourself is so important. You must understand your value the way Jesus does. He sees and knows the real about you. And, He desires a close one on one relationship with you. And, wants to communicate with you in your thoughts. Yes He does! And, it is for every believer!

Your thoughts submitted to His thoughts means success. It means truth and reality with clarity is coming to you from Him. Thoughts are so important. And, important to understand. My father in the faith, Kenneth E. Hagin, would say that an evil thought not spoken or acted upon dies unborn. I’m glad about that! Because, I have thought some really crazy stuff before! But, this can also apply to positive thoughts too!

Brother Hagin also used to say concerning thoughts that sometimes you can’t stop an evil thought from popping into your mind. But, you CAN do something about it! You can get rid of it! He would say as an example of this, that you can’t stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from building a nest in your hair! True words!

How do we act upon a thought? Words and deeds. We put action to our thoughts. We see it on the inside and bring it out on the outside. Can you see how that faith works in what were talking about here? Faith thoughts in the containers of our words and deeds bring out the force of faith abiding in our spirit out into the natural realm. We can change things through our believing and our words when they line up with the will of God. Now, THAT is exciting!

Our soul is an amazing thing in us. We are created with the ability to shape our thoughts and words. Which ones to keep and which ones we hit the eject button. We can change our situations by changing our thought input!

By thinking on the qualifiers of good thoughts listed in Philippians 4:8, we can expect positive things to transpire in our life. We will experience good things because we are keeping our thoughts fixed on good things that build us up. Thoughts are powerful things, my friend! What thoughts are you allowing to stay in your mind?
