Redeemed From The Curse

By Ken Fletcher

“If Jesus shed His blood from wounds He allowed to be inflicted upon His back, He did it for a reason. If Jesus allowed those cruel men to jam long thorns into His skull, and His perfect blood coming out of His head dripped down, He permitted it for a reason. If Jesus let those men spike His hands and feet to a wooden cross and crucify Him, He allowed them to torture Him for a reason.

My friend, what Jesus did was substitutionary! He was taking our place! Suffering for us! Out of love! What was He doing when He let them jam those thorns into His head? He took punishment on His head to pay for OUR right to have peace and a sound mind! Redeemed from the curse!

Why did Jesus allow them to lay His back open with jagged whips–bleeding with His precious blood? It was punishment for us! So that we would have a right to healing for OUR bodies! Redeemed from the curse!

Why did Jesus go to the cross? Why did He let them kill Him? To pay for OUR spiritual separation from God. He took it all upon Himself. There was no other way to deliver us! Redeemed from the curse!

The payment for sin. The payment for healing. The payment for peace and a sound mind. Spirit, soul, and body. Redemption of our total being. Paid in full by Jesus! This is the truth! The real good news of Jesus!

Our lack of faith in what He did prevents us from stepping into what He has provided for us! Do we believe we have a right to a sound mind? How about healing for our bodies? Do we believe Jesus paid for it or not? The Bible says that He did! Do you believe it?

Now, what will you do with what Jesus did at the whipping post? What about when they put the purple robe on Him, mocking Him, pushing the crown of thorns into His head, tearing out His beard hair, then beating Him and hitting Him on the head with sticks on the thorns? Pushing them in deeper. It was violent! Very violent!

What about your separation from God? Do you think that you can pay for your fallen condition on your own? Is your blood perfect without sin? Do you understand the significance of what this means? Jesus paid it all, dear friend! Every part.

What do we believe? That is what matters to us individually. We have the ability to believe everything God says that we can believe. Do we believe these basic and fundamental things about Jesus? The fact is, we connect to God and His word through our faith. We CAN believe because He said it! Because He pronounced it so!

When God says it is so, it puts to silence all the other words and philosophies of men and women. Since this is true, what is it that we believe on these matters? Some people are wishy washy. Or, maybe they have slivers of doubt about what Jesus did and why.

My advice to those people is, they should get extremely solid on these things. Because, as we live in faith, there will be attacks on our faith forthcoming. To be wishy washy means defeat in the arena of faith. Defeat comes from lack of faith in what God has said. But, our faith in what He says is the truth will bring us the victory every time–if we don’t quit and give up!

This post is written to remind you that Jesus paid a terrible price to redeem our complete being–spirit, soul (mind) and body. Jesus did a complete work. He came to redeem us from destruction. To give us grace and life here and now, and there and then! It is already done! It has been given to us by God freely. Will you believe it? Will you receive it? We’re redeemed from the curse! Thank you Jesus!” KF KenFletcher.org
