“1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self [Jesus] bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 “But he [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
It’s obvious that throughout the Bible God has been interested in healing for His people. He is the one who first said to the newly liberated Israel hosts in Exodus that “I am the Lord who heals you.” It IS God’s will.
So much so, that Jesus shed His own blood with stripes at the whipping post. It was for a purpose! He let them torture Him and they opened up His back with cruel jagged whips. His perfect blood flowed. Jesus was bleeding the blood of God at the whipping post! He was doing it all for you and I. He was our substitute as described in the scriptures. God put it all on Him. For us!
The prophesy of Isaiah 53 foretold this would happen to Jesus and why! In 1 Peter 2:24, we see the confirmation of Isaiah 53:5, only this time, it’s looking back at the completion of God’s word spoken hundreds of years before! Jesus completed the mission! Now, in our day, we look back on it’s completion.
I believe it’s all true! Every part of those verses! By God’s grace I received healing from my faith in these verses many times over the years. Now, no one can convince me otherwise.
Even if I had never received healing because of these verses, I would believe them anyway! They are the truth whether or not you or I believe them. Obviously, it is to our benefit if we do believe them.
Faith in God comes from God’s word–hearing and hearing it repeatedly. Faith comes to us. The God kind of faith! We can believe when we have heard Him speak. Why are you not receiving healing in your body if God has paid for it? The same reason people are not in the Kingdom. They have not believed! Even though He has paid for it!
Because when you really believe His word, you can receive. Some people get the cart before the horse. They are praying and speaking before they have filled themselves with God’s word. In essence, there is still doubt present in their heart. It’s like trying to get heat out of the stove without putting any wood inside first.
I want to see people receive from God. But, if they don’t believe His word, then they have a will of their own. To do as they wish. Some don’t want to believe. Even when you tell them the good news. Some are too busy watching the football game or the news to study the truth about being healed by faith in God’s word.
Those above verses are proof to me of God’s will. They are proof to me about what He has done for me (and you). It is settled in my heart. After many years of study. Many years of knowing Jesus. I am more convinced than ever–even if I had not received healing by faith in God’s word (and I have).
I see the great need around me. I see people who are really hurting. But, I also see in them that there is no faith in God at all. If there is faith in them it is vague and not certain.
In Tulsa Oklahoma where I went to Bible Collage, they had a healing center that operated several times a week. They would teach people the truth of what Jesus did. Many sick and diseased people would come. Some very close to death.
After hearing the truth of the word over and over, many of them started coming up in every way. Out of sickness and disease and into God’s healing. What is it all based on? The real truth of what Jesus did! It is our personal faith in what Jesus did that makes the difference. Our believing!
People need to get absolutely fully persuaded of the truth of God’s word concerning faith and healing! THEN, it’s time to implement it. Not before! But, after we put the wood in the stove! It’s time to light the match and fire it up! THEN we get the benefit of the heat! Amen?
I desire that everyone who may read this article will be inspired to study and meditate in the truth of God’s word concerning healing for their physical bodies.
It really must have meant a lot to Jesus to take this upon Himself like He did. Even though our bodies are temporary now, He still thought it was important enough to take that horrible beating for us. It was a payment! So that we could receive healing!
Do what you want. But, I believe! Even if I don’t receive, I believe! I know it’s not God’s fault that I do not receive! And, I want to find out why I am not receiving. Because, I know too much already. I have received before. From some really serious nasty stuff. And, I am growing in faith about healing also. Trying to hear from Jesus about things concerning healing. You should too!
We have come a long way, but, we have a long way to go on this faith journey. My prayer is you are inspired to receive your healing by faith in God’s word.” KF KenFletcher.org
