Jesus Preached Repentance

By Ken Fletcher

“Jesus angrily overturned the tables of the evil money changers and drove them out of the Temple. Jesus openly called the established religious leaders snakes among other things. Jesus spoke truth. He was not interested in what the religious people thought. He knew their hearts.

Jesus was not what you would call a push-over. In fact, He IS the very picture of strength. He was not intimidated by the pressure of the powerful established leaders of His day. Because of Him, their power structure over the people was threatened. Their deception was exposed. Without compromise, Jesus proclaimed repentance and the Kingdom. It was the message direct from God the Father to us. He perfectly portrayed the will of God on earth.

I think sometimes people think that Jesus is mushy and weak. A push-over. They equate Him as passive. They think they can do whatever and it’s okay. Do you think? Those religious leaders hated Him because He exposed them as who they really are behind the facade!

Do you think He does not see the motives of your heart? Do you think He does not understand why you do what you do? Why you make the choices that you do? He sees what is under it all in you. Even if you fool yourself, you’re not fooling Him. Exactly how did you get where you find yourself now?

I am sorry to say that there are people who have lived in self deception so long that they simply believe the lies they have told themselves about themselves. They do not even know who they really are! So sad. But, God knows! He sees through it all.

To really find out who we are is to present ourselves openly and humbly to God. Allow Him to search our hearts and our motives within us. He already knows. But, many times, we don’t. Do we see ourselves as Jesus sees us? We are the ones who are deceived. Do we stay where we are? Do we dig in deeper? Or do we eradicate the falseness within our hearts that the pure light of God exposes? Will we face the real truth about us?

It is a really sad thing to see a person who has deceived for so long that they have lost touch with what is real about them. It has become so natural and easy for them to deceive that they do not recognize truth as what it is. To them, truth is movable to what they want it to be. So, they lie to others easily. They lie to themselves easily. They live in perpetual deception every day. So sad.

If this describes you. Repent. By your will, turn the other way. Go to God with your whole heart. He will help you to see yourself correctly. And, He will help you to live free of deception about yourself and others. Jesus is a tough guy! The toughest! Against evil, that is. And, He exposes the deception. You may be able to fool everyone else, but not Him!

You might as well go to the light! Give Him all. Do not resist Him. Receive from God the truth. Receive Jesus!” KF  KenFletcher.org
