“Faith is our connection to God. What do we believe? Our faith is a response to what God has said. God has indeed spoken many things to us. The question always is, do we believe what He said? Do we act upon what He said?
It is faith in His Word, that comes from His Word, that produces the results of the Word in our lives. We are saved by His grace through faith. The faith comes from Him. It is in His Word. Do we really believe it? Or do we just mentally acknowledge it as so.
Real Bible faith is of the heart. Not the head. Kenneth E. Hagin used to say that it is possible to have faith in our heart and doubt in our head (our mind). It is good to understand this. But, doubt must be dealt with. So, the faith in our heart casts out the doubt that may be in our head. Why do we allow the doubt to stay?
Faith in God’s word does not make sense to the natural mind. Our natural mind looks for logical reasons to believe. There is no answer in the mind when it comes to faith. Real faith is supernatural. A persuasion. A conviction. Based upon God’s Word. God’s written Word, the Bible, and God’s Spirit speaking within our own spirits!
We respond by believing what He said is true regardless of how we may feel or think about it. Real faith is an acknowledgment of God speaking to us in His word or in our spirits. We humbly receive it. Even if we may not understand, we believe it. In time, as we mature, we act more precisely because we are more used to living by faith.
There is much to understand with this life of faith. But, we all can get it. We all can experience the joy of responding to God’s word. His word works! Our part is to receive it and believe it. In really believing it, we will act. Sometimes there is a battle with the doubt in the mind. But, giving ourselves, by our will, to the Lord we can overcome the doubt and stay in faith.
God does not change. His will and His word is solid and unmovable. It is we who are the determining factor! What if we would become solid like He is? We would see many more miracles. Many more manifestations of His good will for us and others.
Through faith we have been given the opportunity to access God’s will into our lives. He has already done His part in full. It is finished and complete. God has given to us access through faith! We have the capacity to believe greater things! I believe it comes down to where our affections lie. Who or what do we love?
If we love Jesus we will endeavor to do what He says. Do we miss it sometimes? Yes. Of course. But, He is not putting us down when we do. He is always after our best. Thinking about what is best for us. That is Jesus! I believe the closer we can live with Him the better. Once again, that is living by faith. Faith in Jesus within!
We are connected. He IS inside every believer! What is it that brings us into His plan? Faith! We are believers not doubters. We receive faith from His word. We do His word by faith. Remember this: It is not the hearer of the word who sees the results, but only the hearer that does the word! That person will see the completion of their faith!
So, as Smith Wigglesworth used to say, faith is an act! We believe, so we do. God is so good to us to allow us to grow in these precious things. To understand His ways. How He does things. It is an honor. We are growing! By His grace! And, we have a long way to go. But, the journey with Jesus gets better every day! Stop and think. In your own life, are you growing in faith in God’s Word?” KF KenFletcher.org
