“How are you facing the future? Many are apprehensive, full of dread, and worry. That is what I would call a fear based perspective of the future. It’s sort of a forecast of negative. An outlook of trouble. Expecting bad to come. My friend, what that is, don’t you realize, is faith in reverse!
You are believing something! Something that has not happened yet. That is some kind of faith, my friend. Faith in bad stuff that has not come yet but you are feeling and believing that it will. Where does that come from? Is it real? Sure it is! What is it based upon? Many times it comes from strong feelings inside.
Lots of people place their trust based upon what they are feeling. That’s the wrong thing to do! Because feelings can lead us into false thoughts. They cannot be depended upon to lead us correctly. Faith is real. Whether faith in reverse (worry) or the real positive God kind of faith.
The idea is to base our faith upon God’s word. We place our trust in what God said we can expect when believing His Word. The real God kind of faith is based upon our understanding of His Word. God cannot change.
He has given us His Word for us to believe and act upon, and instead of projecting fear of the future, we project faith in the future. We expect God to be there! And, He always is! We have a basis for our faith. It’s what we can stand on that is solid and unmovable. No matter what time or space. We can stand in faith on God’s faith-filled word.
Worry thoughts should have no place inside the believer. When our feelings want us to act upon them, we can do something else. Are we qualifying them against the Word first? I’m talking about controlling your own mind and emotions that the Lord gave you!
Instead of worrying, we can read and meditate on the word of God! We can believe something else is coming. Something solid and unmovable. Based upon our faith in what God said! Something that will be true tomorrow just like it is today!
We project faith in our God no matter how things might appear, or feel, in our present. Faith changes things! It changes how we look at the future! It changes the forces of life! It involves God in our future! Because we involve Him in our present. Faith the future instead of face the future!
Your thoughts are important, dear one! What thoughts you allow in your mind to dwell in is your choice!
As my Father in the faith used to say, you cannot keep a bird from flying over your head, but you CAN keep it from building a nest in your hair! That’s a good one to keep! It is so true with our thoughts.
Another thing He used to say was in reference to what other people may say or write. He said, we should have the sense of any ol’ cow who knows how to eat the grass and spit out the sticks! Keep and use the good and spit out the bad! Another good one!
I ask you today, dear friend, what are you faith-ing today? What is your forecast? Is your mind steeped in worry (faith in reverse)? Or are you basing your future upon your faith in God’s Word?
Really now, it’s up to you where you live inside of your soul. You decide. No one else. I’m encouraging you to believe something that is solid. God’s Word, the Bible. Believing His Word, you’re believing God, and you’re believing He is doing what He said He would do for you.
