Are You Settling For Less?

By Ken Fletcher

“Because of our union with Jesus, His Father is our Father! His Spirit is in us now. Bringing us into a real time, instant, One In Him relationship. Jesus lives in us 24/7. Never to leave. We are one in Him and with the Father all the time! Because of this amazing connection and unity we have with Jesus, in reality, nothing is impossible to us. Because nothing is impossible with God. And, we are His!

We are the children of Father God. No one is greater than He is! That is who we are infused with. We have a fusion of us and Jesus inside. This union is too wonderful for words. Whether here on earth or where ever we are, we are with the Lord. He will never leave us. Always abiding so faithful and true in our spirits. The wonderful presence of Jesus is ours all the time!

Our lives can be immersed into His amazing will for us. If we choose, that is! But, friend, actually knowing Jesus is worth so much more than anything you may esteem. Knowledge and experiences living with Jesus is more rewarding than any other pursuits one could go after. Life with Jesus means we look to the One who looks ahead and leads us in His will for us.

When we can do these things that He leads us into, eternal everlasting fruit will be ours. What a privilege to work with Jesus to help someone else. To see them awaken to Jesus is so amazing. For them to understand that He is after their best. That is what love does.

This understanding of One-ness with Jesus is at the core of what Jesus came to do. In John chapter 17 Jesus prayed to the Father for us. Right before he went to the cross. His prayer was that we would be included into the same relationship that He had before in the Kingdom with the Father. He prayed to the Father to include us into this one-ness relationship with God!

This fact is why He came for us! This fact is why Father God sent Jesus to earth. This fact shows that we could never ever attain to this lofty position with God without Jesus doing what He did. Can mankind attain to one-ness with God without Jesus? Not in my understanding of God’s word and the Spirit of God within me. As far as I know, no one can be one with Father God without Jesus. No one!

Now, how people come to the realization of their need of a Savior varies quite a bit. For instance, I believe it is even possible for a man standing under the stars, never hearing about Jesus, to realize his need for God. Just looking at the creation! It’s possible for that man to cry out to God from the depths of his heart. Honestly. With real hunger for the truth. And, receive eternal life from God through Jesus.

I have heard such stories of this very thing happening years ago. And, in a short time, that person actually got to hear the truth about Jesus, and rejoiced when he heard! He knew! God delivered! And, gave that man the truth of Jesus. God looks upon our hearts. He knows the truth about us. Many times, our problem is we are not honest with ourselves. And, because of that, we are not honest with God.

If we have Jesus, we are one with God now! Whether we feel like it or not. Listen, believer, you might as well take advantage of what you have inside. You are fused with Jesus! Do you act like it? Do you talk like it? Do you realize you can access Him all the time? He is not holding back on you! Why do we act like He is not there? Because we don’t really believe it!

Well, I am trying to encourage people to understand this unity and one-ness we have in Jesus. We limit Him so much and we don’t even realize it. What is it that He wants to do in us and through us? Are we looking to Him to reveal to us what He wants for us? I can tell you that what He wants far surpasses what you want for you! Is that possible? Oh, yes it is! But, the problem is, do you believe that or not? And, there lies the real problem!

How we limit God in our lives by our own concepts. We have a will of our own that God has given us! What we do with it is ours exclusively. The best you and I can do is to give Jesus our will. To guide us into His greater will. It takes humility, submission, and commitment. (Which we talk about in detail on the Know Thyself series on The Road Of Faith Seminar.)

But, to give Jesus our will to be able to comprehend His great will, is more important than anything! Giving His will and what He wants priority in our lives. I tell you, what He wants for you is better than what you want. Because, what Jesus wants for you is everlasting fruit that will remain throughout eternity! It is better now in this life, and better later in the next life!

It’s really foolish for us to run our own life! Because we see and know so little. We cannot see ahead to many of the ramifications of our own will apart from His will. But, Jesus sees and understands it all. And, He wants to lead us by faith into His way for us! That is what I want to experience in my life. I hope that is what you want as well.

Because, really, what are we going to do better than that? It seems to me that everything else is substandard to God’s will for us! We might as well attain to what Jesus wants us to do! But, at the bottom line of it all is, what do we want? Really! His will never changes. But what do we want?

If we can get to the place of total yielding of all we are unto the Lord, we will experience His will for us! He will show us and guide us into His best! Do you believe that? Well, I do. And, I am endeavoring to live in that place! Have I arrived. Nope! But, I’m on a journey with Jesus. He’s helping me all I will allow Him or am capable of understanding right now.

Whatever I am, I want to be a blessing through which Jesus can help people. Stop and take a look at what you are about. What do you think? Is Jesus really running your life or is it you who’s really in the drivers seat?

Maybe you are trying to get Jesus to bless your plan? Well, I can assure you that Jesus will do everything He can to help you.–Even if you’re trying to live your own plan or partially so. But, doing your plan means that you are settling for less!

He will bless you all He is able in spite of your decisions. But, dear friend, you might as well enjoy His will since He is in you all the time! Don’t you think? KF KenFletcher.org
